How to use the buyer evaluate feature
Buyer Evaluate Experience: Faster, Clearer Startup Evaluation
What’s New
We’ve launched a new Evaluate experience in the buyer GAP (Guided Acquistion Process) flow to make early diligence more structured and actionable.

Instead of a generic first step, buyers now get a guided checklist that helps them quickly answer:
- Is this startup still a fit?
- Have I reviewed the core materials?
- Am I ready to move to an offer?
Why This Matters
Evaluating a startup is one of the most important parts of the acquisition process. Buyers need to move quickly, but confidently. The new Evaluate experience helps buyers:
- Focus on the highest-signal actions first
- Keep track of what they’ve already reviewed
- Avoid missing key diligence steps
- Move forward (or opt out) with clarity
How It Works
When a buyer has approved access, the Evaluate tab now presents a step-based workflow designed for fast, practical diligence:
-
Access
Confirms access is approved so buyers can proceed. -
View full listing
Opens the full listing details for a complete review. -
Watch video intro (if available)
Appears only when the startup has a video intro. -
Review files (if available)
Shows uploaded startup files and tracks reviewed state per file. -
Schedule call with founder
Encourages direct buyer-seller engagement through chat.
Each step includes a clear status indicator (for example, Reviewed or Not reviewed yet) so buyers can see progress at a glance.
Key Actions in the Experience
The new flow includes direct, purpose-built actions:
-
Not interested
Buyers can archive a deal if it’s no longer relevant. -
View listing
Uses the same behavior as “View full listing” from the details sidebar. -
Open video
Opens the startup intro video and records viewed state. -
Review files
Displays all startup files in one place, tracks reviewed status, and allows buyers to click and download files directly. -
Chat
Opens the same seller chat workflow as “Chat with seller” in the sidebar.
Special States
The Evaluate experience also handles important edge cases:
-
Access revoked
Buyers see the existing revoked-access card and can archive the startup. -
No video / no files
Those sections are hidden automatically when not applicable.
What This Changes for Buyers and Sellers
For buyers:
- A clearer path from access approval to offer readiness
- Better visibility into what’s done vs. what’s left
- Faster, less fragmented evaluation
For sellers:
- Better buyer engagement with listing materials
- More informed early conversations
- Higher-quality buyer intent before offer stage
